Proven Leadership for Howard County's Future
"We don't have a DEFICIT problem -- we have a SPENDING problem!"
Over the last 15 years Howard County’s BUDGET grew by 393% . . . while our POPULATION only grew by 30% !

“Our tendency to let government provide more and more is unsustainable – even in a county as 'rich' as Howard. We still have time to protect our County’s extraordinary quality of life – but we must start now.  We need to:

♦      STOP SPENDING funds to expand government.
♦      FUND the FUTURE COMMITMENTS we’ve already made
(such as County retirees $800 million unfunded health care benefits)
♦      FOCUS on services the government does well.
♦      SUPPORT volunteers and not-for-profits that provide services
so much more passionately and effectively than government.”

You can help us Declare our Independence from Tax-and-Spend Government with a donation of just $17.76!
Our Country declared its independence in 1776!

♦   I believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

♦   I believe in equal rights, equal justice, and equal opportunity, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability

♦   I believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

♦   I believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

♦
I believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

♦
I believe the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

♦   I believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

Bob Kittleman Scholarship Fund
Ehrlich's Inauguration, 1-20-2003

My husband, Senator Robert Kittleman passed away on September 11, 2004.  He left a legacy of public service to Howard County and the State of Maryland.  Of all the causes he believed in, education was his #1 priority.  In honor of Bob's life, the Kittleman family created the Bob Kittleman Scholarship Fund through the Columbia Foundation.  If you would like to learn more, or to contribute, click here.
